The massacre of wolves
After being exterminated, the wolves returned naturally to France. This good news for our ecosystems is however extremely badly received by some: the hunters and farmers have decided that they are their competitors and, with the support of the State, their massacre has resumed.
The wolf, considered an endangered species, is protected by European regulations. They cannot be just an object for target practice "all other means have been tried to avoid this". However the shots “levises” multiply each year, killing dozens of wolves. Cubs are not spared. Why circumvent protected animal status?
The reason is simple; the wolves are a competition for hunters of small game - especially farm bred, and an ideal culprit for the farmers whose sector is in crisis. 85% of the wages of the shepherds are subsidized where the wolf is present, and they receive compensation in case of attack, which is not the case when it is the fact that of stray dogs. So many reasons to continue to believe that it poses a threat to the ridiculously small number of ewes it actually takes...
And even so ... Killing a wolf certainly reduces the size of the pack but does not diminish its hunting territory. Moreover, the instability generated by the death of one of them leads to a search for empty spaces, and contributes to the formation of new groups. The massacre of wolves is not even a valid solution to the problem we are lead to believe in! One Voice calls for an end to this killing.
